Dr. Purnima Sheoran is a board-certified implant dentist, educator, international speaker, and entrepreneur dedicated to advancing implant dentistry through education, mentorship, and professional credentialing. As the Founder and Director of the Mai Credentialing Pathway Institute (MCPI), she is passionate about empowering dentists to achieve the highest standards of clinical excellence while successfully navigating the pathway to Associate Fellow, Fellow, and Diplomate credentialing.
A Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry (ABOI/ID) and Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID), Dr. Sheoran has built a distinguished career centered on comprehensive implant rehabilitation, bone regeneration, digital workflows, and evidence-based treatment planning. She believes that credentialing is more than passing an examination—it is a commitment to lifelong learning, clinical excellence, ethical patient care, and leadership within the profession.
Dr. Sheoran serves as faculty for advanced implant education programs, including the 3D Implant Institute Dallas MaxiCourse and international surgical training programs. She has mentored dentists from around the world in implant surgery, guided bone regeneration, immediate implant placement, prosthetic rehabilitation, and complication management. Her teaching philosophy focuses on simplifying complex concepts, strengthening critical thinking, and helping clinicians translate scientific evidence into predictable clinical outcomes.
As the visionary behind MCPI, Dr. Sheoran developed a comprehensive credentialing curriculum that combines structured didactic education, case-based learning, mock examinations, and individualized mentorship. Her goal is to provide clinicians with the knowledge, confidence, and support necessary to excel in credentialing examinations while becoming safer, more thoughtful implant clinicians.
Beyond education, Dr. Sheoran owns and operates Mai Dental Care in California, where she incorporates advanced digital technologies into everyday practice, including CBCT-guided treatment planning, intraoral scanning, digital workflows, and comprehensive implant rehabilitation. Her commitment to innovation and excellence has earned her recognition as both a respected clinician and a dedicated mentor.
Dr. Sheoran is an active leader within organized dentistry, serving in leadership roles within the American Academy of Implant Dentistry and contributing to the advancement of implant education through lectures, study clubs, and continuing education programs. She remains committed to fostering a collaborative learning environment where clinicians can grow professionally, share knowledge, and inspire one another to achieve excellence.

James L. Rutkowski, D.M.D., Ph.D., is a pharmacist and dentist with a Ph.D. in Pharmacology. Dr. Rutkowski is now the Program Director and Associate Clinical Professor for the Oral Implantology master’s degree program at Jacksonville University and an Adjunct Professor at the University of Buffalo, School of Dental Medicine, State University of New York, NY. He has authored multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals and textbook chapters. Jim is Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Oral Implantology, a Diplomate and Past President of the American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry (ABOI/ID), and an Honored Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID). He lectures nationally and internationally on pharmacology, sedation techniques, bone grafting materials and techniques, and methods for treating medically compromised dental patients. Dr. Rutkowski has been awarded the Gershkoff-Goldberg Award for service to the field of Implant Dentistry and the Isaiah Lew Memorial Research Award for contributions to research in Implant Dentistry.
Dr. Rutkowski maintained a dental practice in Pittsburgh and Clarion, Pennsylvania, for 44 years, focusing on treating apprehensive and medically compromised patients using various sedation techniques.

Dr. Hardeek Patel is an internationally recognized implant dentist, educator, and founder of the 3D Implant Institute. With nearly two decades of experience in implant dentistry, he has dedicated his career to advancing clinical excellence through education, mentorship, and innovation. His passion lies in helping dentists build the knowledge, judgment, and confidence needed to provide exceptional patient care and achieve the highest levels of professional credentialing.
As an MCPI faculty member, Dr. Patel brings extensive experience preparing clinicians for advanced implant dentistry through structured education, case-based discussions, and practical clinical application. His teaching emphasizes critical thinking, evidence-based decision-making, and the principles necessary to succeed in Associate Fellow, Fellow, and Diplomate credentialing examinations.
In addition to maintaining a successful multi-location practice in New Jersey, Dr. Patel is a leader in digital implant dentistry. He operates a fully digital laboratory utilizing CBCT imaging, intraoral scanning, CAD/CAM technology, and 3D printing to deliver precise, predictable treatment. He has also contributed to the development of implant surgical instrumentation, reflecting his commitment to advancing the field through innovation.
Dr. Patel completed the prestigious Puerto Rico MaxiCourse under the mentorship of Dr. Hilt Tatum and has earned Fellowship in the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID), Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), Fellowship in Implantology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and Mastership with the California Implant Institute. He serves as faculty for advanced implant education programs and is a Key Opinion Leader for several leading organizations in implant dentistry.
Known for his engaging teaching style and practical approach, Dr. Patel is passionate about helping dentists transform clinical experience into lasting professional growth. Through MCPI, he is committed to empowering participants with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to excel in credentialing examinations while elevating the standard of implant dentistry worldwide.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Patel enjoys cooking, spending time with his family, and bringing his enthusiasm and sense of humor to every educational program he teaches.

Dr. Muhaimin is a board-certified implant dentist dedicated to advancing excellence in implant dentistry through clinical practice, education, and mentorship. His passion for lifelong learning and commitment to evidence-based patient care have made him a respected clinician, educator, and leader within the dental community.
After recognizing the life-changing impact of implant dentistry on patients with failing dentition and tooth loss, Dr. Muhaimin pursued extensive advanced education in surgical and restorative implant dentistry. In 2024, he earned Diplomate status with the American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry (ABOI/ID), the highest level of credentialing in implant dentistry, demonstrating exceptional knowledge, clinical expertise, and dedication to the specialty.
Dr. Muhaimin is committed to integrating cutting-edge technology into everyday practice to improve patient outcomes. His practice utilizes advanced digital workflows, including 3D CBCT imaging, intraoral digital scanning, CAD/CAM same-day restorations, laser-assisted dentistry, and YOMI robotic-assisted implant surgery. As the first clinician in Solano County to implement robotic-assisted implant technology, he continues to lead innovation in precision implant care.
As MCPI faculty, Dr. Muhaimin is passionate about helping dentists successfully navigate the pathway toward Associate Fellow, Fellow, and Diplomate credentialing. He enjoys mentoring colleagues, sharing practical clinical insights, and helping participants develop the knowledge, confidence, and critical thinking skills necessary to excel in the credentialing process and provide outstanding patient care.
A graduate of the University of California, San Francisco School of Dentistry, Dr. Muhaimin has remained actively involved in organized dentistry throughout his career. He currently serves as President of the Greater Bay Area Dental Society and maintains active membership in numerous local, state, and national dental organizations. His dedication to education and professional service reflects his belief that continuous learning and mentorship are essential to advancing the profession.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Muhaimin enjoys spending time with his wife and three daughters, listening to audiobooks, staying active, and supporting his daughters’ athletic and performing arts activities.

Dr. Jasmine Sung is passionate about implant dentistry and dedicated to helping colleagues achieve their AAID credentials. She earned her undergraduate degree from Wellesley College and her D.D.S. from Baylor College of Dentistry, before completing a Postgraduate Certificate in Implantology from Warwick University in England and a year-long surgical training program with Dr. Hilt Tatum in Birmingham, England.
Dr. Sung holds credentials in both implant and general dentistry achieved within a decade of entering practice. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology (ABOI) and the International Congress of Oral Implantology (ICOI), where she also holds the distinctions of Master and Fellow. She is a Master of the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) and an Honored Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry.
Her involvement with the AAID goes beyond her own credentialing. She serves as an AAID Examiner, has served on multiple AAID annual conference committees, holds the position of Southern District President, and chairs the Membership Committee. She was also honored with the AAID Paul Johnson Service Award for her contributions to the organization.
Dr. Sung is also active in the Greater Houston Dental Society, the Chinese American Doctors Association of Houston, and the Wellesley Club. Outside of dentistry, she is happily married to her husband, David, and enjoys the adventure of raising their three children.

Dr. Mahima Gupta is a board-certified implant dentist and Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry (ABOI/ID), dedicated to advancing excellence in implant dentistry through education, mentorship, and clinical innovation. She has completed more than 1,500 hours of advanced implant education and has extensive experience in implant surgery, full-arch rehabilitation, digital treatment planning, esthetic implant reconstruction, and IV sedation.
As an AAID Associate and Fellow Examiner and Faculty at the Resnik Implant Institute, Dr. Gupta has played an active role in evaluating and mentoring dentists pursuing advanced implant credentials. Her passion for education is rooted in helping clinicians build confidence, strengthen clinical judgment, and achieve the highest standards of patient care.
At MCPI, Dr. Gupta brings invaluable insight into the credentialing process, guiding candidates through board examination preparation, case documentation, treatment planning, and evidence-based decision-making. Her commitment to mentorship and excellence aligns perfectly with MCPI’s mission of helping dentists earn the recognition their education and clinical experience deserve.
